Xulat (aka Xulat Micro) is a modern combined preparation for combating synanthropic insects: bedbugs, cockroaches, house ants, fleas, etc. insects getting used to it.
The product is produced by the Spanish chemical concern Quimica de Munguia and distributed in the Russian Federation through a network of dealers. In an ordinary store, for example, in household goods, it is almost impossible to buy Xulat today, but it is actively sold in online stores. The price of the product is approximately 450 rubles per bottle of concentrate with a volume of 30 ml. This amount, after proper dilution, is enough to process about 40 m².
Xulat is a remedy specifically for home use, which has gained popularity and good reviews, primarily in the destruction of bedbugs and cockroaches by the residents of the premises themselves. The composition of the product and the effect of its components on insects
The composition of Xulat includes three fairly powerful insecticides at once:
- Cypermethrin, which quickly affects the nervous system of insects at all stages of development (except eggs). Gives a good effect against insects resistant to organophosphorus insecticides, has intestinal and contact action. It is due to the contact action that Xulat is so effective against bedbugs, which, unlike cockroaches, cannot be forced to eat any poisoned bait, since they feed only on blood.
- Tetramethrin - like cypermethrin, is an insecticide from the pyrethroid class, has a contact effect, causing paralysis and rapid death in insects.
- Piperonyl butoxide is a substance with insecticidal properties, which at the same time enhances the effect of the use of pyrethroids and provides a synergistic effect (a sharp increase in efficiency in the joint presence). Piperonyl butoxide improves the penetration of pyrethroids through the protective covers of insects, increasing the overall effectiveness of the drug up to 5 times.
Such a combined composition turns out to be very effective against cockroaches, bedbugs, as well as other parasites and pests due to the fact that the likelihood of insects developing resistance to three active components at once is negligible. For example, even populations of bugs resistant to cypermethrin, when treated with Xulat Micro, die from tetramethrin and piperonyl butoxide.

It is the combined composition that is the main advantage of Xulat Micro over such (pretty good) drugs, such as, for example, Get, which acts due to chlorpyrifos alone, or Delta Zone, which also includes only one insecticide - deltamethrin. As noted above, the combination of three effective insecticides with different chemical structures at once practically does not give insects a chance to develop resistance to the drug.
Compared to simple aerosol insecticides, Xulat Micro is good, firstly, by the absence of smell, and secondly, by its microencapsulated form. The first advantage greatly facilitates its use in everyday life, and the second provides a prolonged action and generally increased efficiency compared, for example, with insect sprays Raid, Raptor, Dichlorvos Neo or Combat.
Of the disadvantages of Xulat Micro, it should be noted:
- The ineffectiveness of the drug against bedbug eggs, that is, the absence of an ovicidal effect - even if they get on parasite eggs, particles of cypermethrin, tetramethrin and piperonyl butoxide do not destroy them.This sometimes makes it necessary to re-treat the premises approximately 2 weeks after the first treatment, when parasite larvae have already hatched from the surviving eggs. And finally, the price: compared, for example, with such a somewhat outdated, albeit very odorous, but affordable remedy, like Karbofos, Xulat Micro is still expensive. On the other hand, compared to the prices of some other modern pest control products, the drug even looks like a very economical option.

To prepare the working solution of Xulat Micro, the contents of the vial (30 ml) are dissolved in 3 liters of water and mixed thoroughly. After that, the solution is poured into a spray bottle, for example, from window cleaner, or into a garden spray bottle.

Now, after 10 years from the date of the last processing, someone brought it again. I will try this chemical, perhaps in combination with proven vinegar.
