Before using wax moth tincture, you should learn more about this remedy.

Wax moth tincture is a well-known folk remedy, originally used to combat tuberculosis and some other diseases of the lungs, bronchi and respiratory tract in general. However, later, with the increasing popularity of this remedy, numerous additional possibilities were suddenly discovered in it, and today healers recommend using it for almost any disease.

However, no matter how popular the wax moth is as a healing agent, its tincture is never prescribed by certified doctors for the treatment of patients. Its effectiveness, it would seem, is justified using scientific terms, but in reality there were no large-scale scientific studies and works on its study.

Serious scientific studies that would show the effectiveness of wax moth tincture have not been conducted.

Therefore, the use of wax moth tincture should be treated quite carefully and remember that history does not know statistically significant documented cases of cure with its help, and reviews about the effectiveness of tincture are often very doubtful.

How and from what wax moth tincture is prepared

A tincture of wax moth larvae is prepared from the caterpillars of the penultimate age of the wax moth butterfly, a well-known pest of bee hives. Both the caterpillar itself and the butterfly of this species emit special substances that smell the same as those emitted by bees. Accordingly, the bees in the hive do not perceive them as strangers and do not attack them.

In the photo - a wax moth larva

Wax moth larvae feed on honey, wax, bee pollen, they can sometimes eat eggs and even young bee larvae, which is very harmful to the entire bee family. If there are too many moths in the hive, the bee colony may die altogether.

With a strong infection of the hive with a wax moth, the bee colony may die.

Review

“Wax moth tincture is an excellent remedy for chest pains and migraines. I am an experienced beekeeper, for more than ten years I have been preparing this tincture according to my own recipe and drinking it. I used to have a constant headache because of the weather, and in winter there were clear signs of tuberculosis, although the doctors did not find it. As soon as I started drinking, it all went away. I recommend this product to everyone."

Ilya Ivanovich Smirny, Belozersk

It is believed that the ability of wax moth larvae to absorb wax as food is due to the presence in their digestive tract of the enzyme cerrase, a special substance that breaks down the chemical components of wax. Since the tubercle bacillus has a shell that is chemically close to wax, a theory has arisen that cerrase can split the outer integument of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and lead to its death.

It is believed that the cerrase enzyme contained in wax moth larvae is able to break down the cell walls of bacteria.

For the sake of truth, it is worth noting that biochemistry knows neither such a substance - cerrase (at least with that name), nor reliable data confirming that when using a tincture of wax moth larvae, the causative agent of tuberculosis dies in the human body. Therefore, the evidence for the properties of wax moth tincture itself remains not very convincing.

It is interesting

Fuel to the fire of doubts is added by the fact that any student of the Faculty of Biology can confirm the inconsistency of the properties of wax moth tincture. The only person who tried to confirm the effectiveness of the use of wax moth infusion is a certain "academician" Mukhin, neither about scientific achievements, nor even about whose name and surname nothing is known. It was he who “invented” cerraza, and he convincingly proved the effectiveness of the drug itself for the uninformed.

For the preparation of wax moth tincture, large larvae are used that continue to feed. At the last stage of development, the amount of the digestive enzyme in the caterpillar decreases sharply, since during this period it needs to prepare for pupation, and younger larvae contain, accordingly, a smaller amount of useful substances.

On a note

More reliable is the assumption that the larger the larvae, the less they are needed to prepare a serving of tincture. Accordingly, it is easier for the beekeeper to prepare the right amount of medicine from large caterpillars than from small ones.

The recipe for making wax moth tincture is simple: larvae (usually live) are poured with 40% alcohol in a ratio of 1:10 by weight, that is, 100 grams of alcohol is added to 10 grams of larvae. After that, the whole mixture is infused in a cool dark place for 1-2 months.

Ethyl alcohol medical

When preparing a 20% tincture, 20 grams of larvae are taken per 100 grams of alcohol.

On a note

Very often, the alcohol tincture of the wax moth is popularly called (and "folk" producers) an extract. This is not entirely correct - the extract is usually prepared from crushed raw materials. In the proposed medicines, “drowned caterpillars” always swim near the bottom.

Despite the ease of preparation of wax moth tincture, beekeepers have a monopoly on it. In a place other than artificial hives, it is simply impossible to get enough larvae in sufficient quantities. Some honey producers sell the caterpillars themselves, but at such a price that it is more rational to buy a ready-made alcohol tincture of wax moth larvae.

Usually the tincture is prepared and sold by the beekeepers themselves.

It is interesting

Perhaps the beekeeper, who was tired of fighting the pest and decided to try to make money on this pest, came to mind to prepare a wax moth tincture. And later, when the placebo effect and reviews of the wax moth tincture began to make successful advertising for this remedy, there were bright minds who tried to more or less consistently justify the meaning of using the tincture. So, it seems, a useless remedy quickly became a well-known medicine.

Review

“My father-in-law has four pieces of evidence in his dacha. When I learned how to make wax moth tincture, I asked him, he says that sometimes he finds these butterflies and caterpillars, but there are too few of them. I don’t think that even 50 grams of infusion is enough.”

Peter, Big Valley

Indications for the use of tincture

Initially, when the remedy was just gaining popularity, it was recommended to take wax moth tincture for patients with tuberculosis. It was believed that it was the tubercle bacillus that destroys this remedy.

Previously, wax moth tincture was used to treat tuberculosis, and today it is used for almost everything.

It is interesting

In fact, if the prerequisites for the effectiveness of wax moth tincture were correct, then it could be used against a huge number of bacterial infections - many bacteria have lipid components in their shell. It is obvious that there were no truly experienced physicians among the defenders of this remedy: instead of promoting the tincture as a remedy for bacterial infections, it began to be used against high blood pressure, impotence and hemorrhoids. This is clear evidence that the remedy has simply acquired the halo of a panacea.

Today, the use of wax moth tincture is advised to those who suffer from the following diseases (we note only the most popular):

  • asthma
  • tuberculosis
  • thrombophlebitis
  • hemorrhoids
  • headaches
  • atherosclerosis
  • cardiac arrhythmia
  • suffering from the effects of a stroke
  • prostate adenoma
  • depression
  • infertility
  • and is also used to treat cancer.

Of course, traditional healers prescribe their dosages for each case and can explain how the remedy works at the “cellular” level. Therefore, before taking wax moth tincture, and even better - before buying it, you should ask about the advisability of such a step by a doctor who has a successful experience in treating a particular disease.

Before using the tincture, be sure to consult with your doctor.

Review

“My husband is a beekeeper, he prepared the wax moth tincture himself. I drank against pain in the heart, this remedy seemed to help a little, but not for long. By spring, the bubble had ended, and a few weeks after the cessation, the pains began again.

Rules for the use of funds

Instructions for the use of tincture of wax moth larvae inspire the same doubts about the effectiveness of the remedy, as well as its scientific justification. Regardless of the disease, its timing, the nature of the course and the degree of neglect, you should take 15-20 drops of tincture, diluted in any other liquid, 3 times a day.

Wax moth tincture is usually taken 15-20 drops 3 times a day.

If not a 10%, but a stronger, 20% solution is used, the number of drops should be reduced to 7-10 2-3 times a day. However, in order to be completely sure of the safety of such treatment, it is necessary to coordinate the program for the use of wax moth tincture with the attending physician, who takes responsibility for the patient's state of health.

Contraindications to taking wax moth tincture

Contraindications to the use of wax moth tincture are few: the remedy is not recommended for children under 14 years of age, pregnant and lactating women.

Review

“The tincture of wax moth larvae did not help me. I struggled with thrombophlebitis, took it for three months, strictly according to the instructions. The result is null. The pain didn't even go away. But there were constant headaches. I stopped drinking, the pain went away.

Oksana Yurievna, Novosibirsk

Reviews of serious side effects from the use of wax moth tincture are not known. Contraindications to use are justified by simple common sense: this remedy is unlikely to harm an adult, and a sufficiently sensitive child can react to it with an acute allergic reaction.

Price, manufacturers and ways to buy wax moth tincture

Only private beekeepers and small private companies specializing in the sale of beekeeping products are engaged in the preparation of tincture of wax moth larvae. No licensed pharmaceutical company produces or sells wax moth tincture.

Tincture is usually sold by beekeepers, large companies do not do this.

Wax moth tincture and the recipe for this remedy are not patented developments.

“... they diagnosed tuberculosis in the upper lobe of the left lung. Medicines were prescribed, but I decided to drink wax moth tincture. It is practically impossible to buy it anywhere, the mother ran around all the pharmacies, but did not find it anywhere. We ordered from some beekeeper from Nevinnomyssk via the Internet.

Timur, Bryansk

As a rule, wax moth tincture can be bought online. They usually sell 100 and 250 ml pharmacy sample bottles with a screw cap. Through the transparent walls of the vials, whitish larvae floating there are visible.

The price of a 20% wax moth tincture in a 100 ml bottle is approximately 750-800 rubles. A 10% solution costs one and a half times cheaper. At the same time, the price of tincture when buying directly from the hands in the apiary can be about 250-300 rubles, although with the ability to bargain - a little less.

Review

For a long time I was looking for where to buy a tincture of wax moth larvae in Donetsk, but no one sells it in the region, or even in Zaporozhye. I ordered from Uman, at the Dmitrov apiary, the bottle came in a week.

Galina Evgenievna, Mariupol

Private producers of tincture from Russia and Ukraine send the remedy all over the world. An important point: if you have already decided to buy a tincture of wax moth larvae, then it is better to order on sites where, apart from the tincture itself and beekeeping products, nothing else is sold.

If you already buy wax moth tincture, then only in specialized stores

As a rule, these sites belong to the farms themselves, who are interested in customers and protect their reputation. If the tincture is sold in online stores littered with a completely diverse product, then it is better to refrain from buying.

Friends, the article you propose about the wax moth is full of inaccuracies. It was written by someone who is really unfamiliar with the numerous and highly impressive clinical studies on wax moth extract. Order me an article-refutation and I will be happy to write it or answer any of your most tricky questions. As an apitherapist, pharmacist and beekeeper, I know everything about the phenomenal properties of the wax moth that the author of this article does not know.

Perhaps the author of the devastating article is right, I can’t judge, because I’m not familiar with chemistry and the conclusion of doctors. And I got to experience it myself. I felt sick in the morning, I know myself, so I’m in bed. The guys offered me this very moth, well, I accepted it, and you know: the chondra passed by.I think that not all folk poultices need certification, but it helps! And the author painted the beekeepers not quite in a good “tone”. My friends guys are mastering the production of propolis tablets with approximately 100% propolis content. Likewise, pollen. And so on in high quality.

Friends. Before me is a book by Ludyansky Eduard Averyanovich, a candidate of medical sciences. Sciences, one of the leading neuropathologists in Russia. Here are not only his works, but also references to the studies of foreign researchers on almost all bee products, including the bee moth. In the same place: “In folk medicine, wax moth extract has long been used to prevent old age, sex. withering and to lay down. tuberculosis." There is no mention of oncology.
    N. Popovich, I. Oytse (1976) found that propolis slows down the growth of cancer cells, as well as royal jelly. And pollen and perga are a storehouse. In order not to succeed, I advertise these "drugs", but they are available. Ask, I won't be here for long.

Hello, my child is 4 years old. From the age of two he was very often ill. It all started with a common cold, but then ... Bronchitis, pneumonia. At 3.5 years old, we removed the adenoids. There are no diseases as such, but a runny nose does not leave us. Every month the child has snot. And so my friend, the daughter of a beekeeper who deals with the same tinctures, advised us to drink wax moth tincture. In the description I read that children under 14 years old are not recommended. What to do? Whom to listen to, tell me, please.

It is better for a child to take not a tincture, but PZHVM (translated as “wax moth waste product”), it has a milder effect and can be taken at night.

Kseniya! Your child needs to chew Zabrus, and on average several times a day for a certain period of time. This is also a bee product, the top caps of the honeycomb, they are very useful even for those who are allergic to honey. Chew for 10-15 minutes every 2 hours, several times a day. And snot in children pass.

And the tincture for children is dosed as follows: for one tablespoon of warm water, one drop of tincture for one year of the child's life (i.e. if the child is 4 years old - 4 drops per tablespoon of water). For prevention once a day, for treatment - 3 times a day, 30 minutes before meals.
